Photography in Real Estate

This week I wanted to chat a bit about the importance of photography in real estate.

At one time, it may have been sufficient to market a property with limited photography, but today, most consumers are highly visual.

If we want to successfully market a property to a visual audience, we must provide them with a high quality, visually pleasing presentation of the property.

Buyers are making decisions about which properties to view based on what they are seeing online.  For that reason, it is important to provide them with enough information that they want to book that viewing.

When it comes to photography in Real Estate, both quality AND quantity are important, as is layout.  The photography that you choose to represent your home online should allow a buyer to feel as though they are walking through your home in real time.

Features such as lighting, colour, composition, and contrast are very important.

Real Estate photography also must be current.

For example, you wouldn’t want to have your home advertised for sale in June, with photography reflecting a winter backdrop.

According to RE/MAX Canada, photography can really help your home stand out amongst competition.

You can read more about that here.

In summary, when it comes to photography in real estate, be particular about the photographs that you choose to use.

Hi Danielle. This is a great read. No doubt at all that an aesthetically pleasing first impression is important.
